Fernando Montiel puts his titles on the line this February 19

A week to go before the Mexican champion Fernando Montiel Martinez (44-2-2) defends his WBC and WBO Bantamweight championship titles against the Filipino Flash Nonito Donaire (25-1) set at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas Nevada USA.

The 31 year old champ, who started his pro-boxing career at a young age of 17, is currently looked upon as the world's best fighter in the Bantamweight (118 lbs) division merging two belts apart from the titles he won fighting in the flyweight and super flyweight division.

Meanwhile, the hard hitting filipino stated from an earlier interview, that he aims to stop the mexican champ and has no intention of going 12 rounds putting his luck on the judges' score cards.  He intends to go for a knock out similar to what he did in his recent fight against the Ukraine warrior Wladimir Sidorenko, finishing the bout in the 4th round via knockout and winning the vacant WBC Continental Americas Bantamweigth Title.

He now attempts to pinch the Bantamweight World titles from Montiel and tries to square their boxing ranks winning titles in three different divisions.

The two Top Rank boxers put on and showed high regards with one another during their pre-fight press conference but they will surely take no compassion once they step inside the ring and fans will expect a lot of hostility between these two great fighters.
